watching leverage

for the first time and I can't get the line "Let's go steal a Mountie" out of my head.

1) due South fandom, this is somehow all your fault and

2) no, I don't know what sort of plot would lead to that kind of a line. I'm only six episodes into Leverage, give me a minute.

due south, crossovers, fic ideas, leverage

There's a very, very short SGA fic where the Leverage team basically says, "Lets go steal an astrophysicist." So you're not the only one that has happened to XD

(I'd totally read a fic where they steal a mountie)

ha! I bet it's a fun short fic!

(I kinda want to write one? but it's going in the queue with all the other fic bunnies that due South has decided to spawn, so...it might be a while. If nothing else I want a better grasp on the Leverage characters and general show pattern before I do anything. Also I'd like to finish some of the dS fic I have sitting in my head and on my hard drive.)

(as of now I know it would be a case of Fraser totally seeing that even though their methods are illegal, the Leverage team is not at its heart an immoral group, and that would carry weight with him.)

It is fun.

(You should absolutely write one :D I also have a long list of fics I want to write, so I really sympathize. And you have some great ideas I'd dearly love to read.)

(Fraser would totally go along with whatever they need him for. "Their hearts are in the right place, Ray.")

I'mma blaming this on you. sparklyfanta December 19 2018, 06:25:24 UTC
"I can hear Benny now," Vecchio drawled. "'Their hearts are in the right place, Ray.' 'As you know, Ray, many people don't have the money to fight these lawsuits.' He was all over your Robin Hood bullshit." He sighed and sat back, and nodded with his head toward Kowalski, who was over by the window of their office, still and silent. Nate watched the two of them with equal amounts of interest.

"He hasn't talked much since it happened," Vecchio said quietly. "And when Stanley goes silent you know you've got a problem. He runs his mouth like it's a sport." He glared at the polished surface of the table, and leaned a bit more towards Sophie--unlike Kowalski, he'd been charmed by her since she opened the door. "They got married as soon as it was legal, you know. In Canada. Fast tracked Stanley for citizenship."

EEEEEE! Let's go steal a Mountie! A due South Leverage crossover would win at so many things!

A fan recced Leverage to me as "it's not C6D, but I think you'll like it"...and then I watched it and I <3'ed it...and guess what, it is C6D...but I will let you try to spot the C6D actors and actresses without spoilering you.

Right? but I have so many other fic ideas to work on...

HMMM. I am tempted to cheat using IMDB, but I've already glanced at CKR so I know it isn't him. HMMM.

That wouldn't surprise me, though--Holland Manners (bad guy on Angel) and Jonathan Levinson (from Buffy) already showed up in the SAME EPISODE as bad guys, so...yeah. One of the fun things about watching TV shows that are a little older is all the people you retroactively recognize. (The dad from the Wonder Years!) (Oz from Buffy was a stoner who led Mulder and Scully to ~aliens~! CKR in anything in the 90s!)

"So many other fic ideas to work on." Yeah, I know how that goes -- I have a really crowded plotbunny hutch myself.

You mentioned CKR right after you mentioned Mulder and Scully. So, did you see CKR in the X Files movie?

The bunny hutch sometimes looks like it needs a little spay/neuter program...but that's called "writing the bunnies," so...yeah.

I have not! But I've gotten a bunch of new-to-me DVD sets, and the first season of the X-Files is one of them, and Forever Knight is another one, and he's in a couple episodes of the early X-Files and an episode of Forever Knight. I think any show filmed in Canada in the 90s may have just been contractually obligated to offer him parts. :D

ETA: to clarify, he's in the third season of Forever Knight, not the first, but the fact that he has a credit for that cracks me up.
