The strategy "your opponents good move is your good move" doesn't really translate well to other things, does it? Take Jiu Jitsu for instance... or chess. You really want to counter what your opponent is doing but not DO what your opponent would do ( Read more... )

Man, that was a long time ago! You're right though. I would think that by definition, the best move that your opponent can make is probably the worst move for you (effects wise), but that doesn't mean that if you make that move, it will necessarily be your best move. At any point, there's lots of different payoffs for various moves.

Martial Arts is more like chess. Your moves aren't the same as their moves. It's more like a series of moves and counter-moves, and the person who can get inside and defeat the other person's decision-making cycle faster is the person who will win.
