You can add, but I'm afraid that (1) nearly all my entries are friends-only and (2) I can barely keep up with my current friends list (about ¾ people I know in real life and the rest people who've been on my friends list for years), so I try to only add people I know in real life. I'm sorry.
Hi, I'm a member at . I'm interested in interpreting as a future career, but I'd just like to talk to someone so I can ask questions and get some perspective. Would you mind if I emailed or IMed you and asked some (well, a lot of) questions generally about your job as an interpreter? If you had time for this I'd be thrilled. If not, don't worry about it. But thank you!
You can (username at livejournal dot com) although it'll probably take a bit of time for me to get back to you; but if you look over interlingual I've probably answered most of your questions there a bunch of times, and also if you check over tags on linguaphiles.
Ahhhhhh Children of Eden. Love, love, love. As soon as I saw your username I knew. =) Would you mind if I added you as a friend? You don't have to add me back if you don't want to.
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. As I said to paulistano above, you're welcome to add me, but (1) most of my entries are friends-only and (2) I rarely add people I don't know in real life, because I can barely keep up with my current friends list (most of whom I do know in real life, the rest of whom have mostly been on my friends list for several years).
I hope you don't mind that I added you. Looking at your other responses in this post you don't really want to add people you don't know IRL, and that's fine- I'm just trying to learn more about translation and interpretation as a career (I've read some of your comments on different communities and in ti_ana's journal). I just wanted to comment because I personally appreciate it when people comment when they add me :-)
