Yun Zhong Ge Chapter 40: Nothing more tragic than eternal separation.

I dreaded to translate this chapter for the longest time. Once this chapter passes, lots of hardship will await our characters and the whole landscape of YZG would have changed as everyone struggles to adapt to a world without Liu Fu Ling. Xiao Mei might have loved him, and not had her love returned, but that doesn't discount her love for him, nor ( Read more... )

Oh gosh! The saddest of all the saddest chapters has arrived. Xiao Mei loves LFL and has waited years for him to return her love. That is tragic by itself. I guess the major difference between LFL & XM and LFL & YG is that the former is one-sided, so it had no chance of heading anywhere. Whereas LFL and YG made promises, traded tokens, went through so many hardships to be with each other for only a year. The tragedy here is greatly intensified. Thank you Sparkskey for your hard work. Let the tears come!

Thanks dear Sparkskey for taking the time to continue translating this novel for us. I wonder if perhaps LFL would have loved Xiao Mei romantically if he had not met Yun Ge when he was so young. It's sad how he looked towards the West, longing for YG while Xiao Mei was looking North towards her parents' home. The silent acceptance of his impending death is also very poignant. Take care and thanks again! Darcy
