Why isn't our forearm just one solid bone? Why is it two jointed bones? Does it serve a benefit? If anything it's easier to break...at least that's how I see it, I mean you have a lot of tendons and muscles in there for your hands and stuff too, but I don't think that they'd have to make your forearm hollow in order to make your tendons work...Just ( Read more... )

it's so you can rotate your lower arm and wrist. Since your elbow is a hinge joint, not a ball and socket, the two bones give your lower arm the ability to twist.

your lower leg also has two bones in it.. the tibia and fibula
