Heh, I'm a bit of a plane geek too and I was lucky enough to see Concorde take off in Paris while it was still in service. You're definitely right though - it's very sad it was taken out of service.

I don't know what I'm going to do when I start my job at Rolls-Royce in September - I'll probably be running around like an excited child.

Hmm, unless I'm missing something, there's more than one remaining Concorde as there's also one at the Museum of Flight, East Fortune, near Edinburgh in Scotland.

Yea - 12 are preserved around the world (plus the two that were destroyed) which makes 14 production aircraft.

My dad was a test engineer on Concorde. I remember I had a photo of it flying signed by the air crew and chief engineers and so forth.
