I think the 'His Dark Materials' trilogy is my favourite set of books that I have ever read. I soo soo hope that the film lives up to the books (which I'm sure it wont).

Never read the books although I had Northern Lights sitting on my bookshelf for ages. My sister got it for me years ago as a Christmas present but I'm terrible at reading books other people get for me...

The trailer looks interesting though so I might give it a shot. I guess I'll get my parents to send it over or something.

That looks so ace. I also really loved the books, are they doing three films then? I'm guessing that the golden compass was the american title of the first book rather than Northern Lights

They have got rid of most of the church stuff yea, from what I gather. But then that is quite an intricate part of the story.

I think I'm gonna read them again

Yeah it's a very big part of the story. Especially how all the people in Oxford are somehow linked to the church and the burning of the church etc.

I've no idea where my copies are. You have been pretty prodigious on your LJ these past few days like 3 posts a day!
