QLD Flood Crisis

This is a post in regards to the current crisis in QLD. All those effected are in my thoughts and heart. The stories coming out of this tragedy are heartbreaking.

I can't stop looking at these (and other) pictures. I hope your Mom's friend (and everyone else) comes out of this ok. I talked about it a bit with my 9th grade students on Monday (their book's theme is Australia) and I don't think they realise how many people/how much land is affected by this. When I told them it was at least twice as big as Germany then they got it.

I hope so too. I know what you mean. We have 24 hour rolling coverage of the floods on 3 of our free-to-air channels and I can't bring myself to watch anything but.

It's completely phenomenal and, even though QLD was the worst hit, it's now flooding in 5 out of our 8 states and territories. It's just HUGE.

i've donated and have spread the link around. i have family and friends up there. i worry about them. thankfully facebook keeps me in contact with them if phones can't.

Tah. They're gonna need all the donations they can get.
I hope all your friends and family are safe and sound and if they've been effected, that it isn't too bad!
