to those who have died for us;
to those who have served for our Country.
To those soldiers; past, present and future, you are the reason we are who we are;
the reason we are able to walk freely throughout our land;
the reason we are proud to be Canadian.

My Grandmothers house was flattened by a 'doodlebug' german aerial bomb. So many people (young ones generally) fail to realise that without all those young men and women giving so selflessly, for the greater good, from so many nations, they might be speaking a different language today.
I can only offer my thanks, my gratitude to those brave souls.

Though, with all that bad, there was some light- my granny. My gramps met his bride on a boat coming to Canada from England and that was his reason for fighting- for his beloved's country.
He never spoke of the war after that, the only stories I heard were thsoe from my mother and on rare occasions my grandmother.
I thank anyone who fought the way they did; for love, for peace, for dignity.
