Summary: It's a stormy day . . . .
A few hours more
As heaven weeps and the winds howl in agony, she makes use of her fatal bolts. Thunder rolls like the dreadful roar of a raging grizzly, the turquoise waters darken to a blue so deep it’s almost black. Heaven’s tears whip down at the crystal surface of the Caribbean Sea, making its waves rise and fall, crash and tumble over like hungry wolves fighting over their hunt down prey.
And while she, Calypso - in one of her tempers - does her best to frighten sailors back into some safe harbour, he stands rooted; soaked to the bone, bejewelled fingers gripping the helm with all his might.
Icy water washes over him, the smudgy coal round his eyes fading with each time the water hits his features. But still he holds on, guiding his wooden lady through the spectacle of the sea goddess’ power.
Gold flashes as chopped lips split into a smile and nature’s breath pushes him forward, driving his black vessel closer to that lovely horizon.
Another wave washes over him, pulls at his feet and he weavers - yet he remains standing put and his hopeful smile never fades. For he knows - eyes glued to the stormy, untouchable line that splits the elements - what he will reach at the end of his journey, in a mere matter of hours.
And the picture his mind creates - of a slender woman with long, wavy hair like dark honey holding a young, barely 6 year-old boy with raven curls and eyes, dark like his father’s - is enough to guide him through any of Calypso’s moods.
Because he’ll be back in the cosy nest he built with his own hands for his little family. Because he’ll be back together with the most important persons in his life.
Because, finally, he’ll be home again.
Enjoy!
Oh, and I still <3 feedback! :)
