And thank you! Yes, the right thing to do - Jack does have his very own interpretation of wrong and right and he does care about Will, I like to think. :)
Thanks again! <3

Shall I tell you a secret? Despite the fact that I'd love to see Jack in a "Devil may Care" attidude enjoying the moment, and acting pirate-y, I admire your Jack in this story! I feel that's exactly the CJS JD is showing us, the vulnerable good man, (that has been hurt) hidden behind the mask of the unmindful rascal.
I don't want to forget Elizabeth. Another great character study. Above all her undeniable selfishness, by making use of people, not caring in the least about their feeling, her unacceptance of the choice she made. Of course she has plenty of good characteristics too, (so don't shoot me for counting the negatives here) but in the moment of the story she doesn't care for Jack only wants to get rid of her loneliness.
Having said this, I am happy Jack rejected her, it wouldn't have worked with them...
Well done,

I like to think that the horriffic truth of Will's 'deal' only occures to her later on, when he's in fact not with her. So I'd think that she'd turn those facts over and over in her head and in the process drive herself deeper and deeper into that little hole of sadness. :(
Awww, thank you so much! It's just how I see Jack and it really honores me to hear this from you! :D
Yes, for Elizabeth - in this one - is so wrapped up in her grief and her loneliness, so 'in her own head' that she doesn't really think. She acts on impulse. He's there, he's comforting, he's always had a thing for her - that's all she really sees until he kind of shakes her awake, forces her to deal with reality. :)
Thank you so much for your kind words!
I think I should finally write a fic again where it does work out between them! ;)

But Jack really is a good man, plus he's only human after all, so he shies away from suffering like that - who wouldn't?
Thank you so much for your comment and your kind words! <3
