Intolerant and unfeeling? I hardly see how that could be possible! Was it because you spoke your mind? It seems to be a difficult thing to do now in an all or nothing environment, where either you're a traitor, or you ship J/E. (I agree with your politicking by the way but fortunately the wind FINALLY seems to be shifting.) Too bad that you don't come out of the corner more often to play. The fandom could benefit from a fresh perspective. After all, there are always new kids on the block....yes, that's a pun but only if you remember the band ( ... )

First off, let it be said that I've seen it around 15 times--maybe sixteen. On the other hand, I'd seen DMC around 40 before it left the screen, maybe more ( ... )

Fifteen times?! That's incredible. I bow to your superior patience and theater-going skills. I loose my temper when people answer their cellphones mid-movie ( ... )

He asks her to guard his heart for him, not necessarily for her to spend her time waiting for him.

savvy--great thoughts as always. I think part of the problem is that there was such disappointment in the ending of AWE that it overshadows many fans' perception of the entire movie. Hope it's ok to friend you so that I don't miss when you update. Thx! :)

Of course you can friend me, if I can do the same! Always happy to see a familiar face and to have someone to talk about AWE with. :)

I agree with your consensus about the overall perception. I can't even count the number of times I've heard, "the movie would have been great, but I hate the ending, and therefore hate the movie."

And I agree that there was a lot in AWE that was left to be desired. It makes me wonder sometimes what the whole team would have come up with if they'd taken a breather in between the second and the third. It doesn't mean the story wouldn't have been any different, but at least it would have felt less frantic.

At the same time, there's a point where you have to pick and choose what was well done about the film, and what wasn't. There were some incredibly powerful, well edited scenes that are sadly being overlooked--like the scene where Jack is dealing with Beckett on the ship, contrasted with Barbossa and Elizabeth's dealings with Sao Feng....Sigh, the list goes on.

Ah well, thanks for leaving a

I completely agree with you! In fact, I have found that the best way for me to enjoy AWE, is doing it in "clips"; sort of like how the trailer/teasers were released. I know it's crazy, but it works for me. The simultaneous filming of DMC & AWE was a disaster IMHO. Should be a textbook example of why you shouldn't ever do that again.

Simultaneous filming is great for certain situations; mainly those that were involved on land---but you have to be super prepared in pre-production. They really should have had the scripts for two and three written well before they even started filming the second.

Though I agree with you, I don't understand the purpose of their choosing to do the second and third clumped together. I think AWE may have done better if they had taken a longer break in the filming. Oh well! What's done is done and we can't cry over spilled milk any longer.

What are your thoughts on the rumors for the fourth film?
