I too went through a similar girl situation, but with not as bad an end result.
She told me that because she was going out with someone that she could not be around me anymore for the possible feelings from what she felt about me before to come up since she was happy now, and I respect her wishes, so I haven't seen her in like 2 months. But I am happy.
