WASL

This WASL has to be the most pointless test ever created. They put you all in a room and make you take a test that a common 6th grader could pass and then they give you like 3 hrs. to take it. Seriously, the only way you could possibly fail is to fall asleep during the test...

I've been saying it all day: that test is an insult to the collective intelligence of the SHS student body. And that's really saying something.

I know, even the dumb people should be able to pass it, and we have some pretty dumb people at skyline.

Well, to be (relatively) fair, Skyline's got a pretty smart population. However much we may disparage their pop culture, their test scores and GPAs are consistently high. I've heard conflicting reports as to whether 15% or (God forbid) 50% of all WA sophomores fail the WASL, but either way it's hard to imagine anyone from Skyline falling into that category. Since s o m e b o d y had the brilliant idea of designing a test that everybody in the state could pass, including really screwed-up districts like Tacoma (paging Ayn Rand!), that makes it ridiculously easy for our level of education.

Yay for egocentric arrogance. :P

Yeah, I just read a newspaper article at the gym that says only 36% of the people in Seattle passed all three sections of the WASL last year. That's really sad. I wonder what they teach at those schools...

Or if you were maybe a 5th grader.
