I'm going to ask you, please, do not see Airbender, and encourage anyone you know who's planning on seeing it to either skip it or download it. The casting is extremely racist, and preliminary reports indicate that the movie itself is not only racist but pretty sexist as well.

I'm personally really upset by this whole thing, and upset about the message that it's sending to kids. I'm trying to discourage people from spending money on this whenever possible, in the hopes that we can finally tell Hollywood that this is Not Okay.

If it is as you say, then skipping it is the only sensible thing to do. Can you show me some of the reports you've seen?

I'm trying to find the specific review I read before, which said that Katara's role was basically slashed to nothing but crying and one random act of violence. In the meantime, here are some more general reviews.

If you want I can certainly also dig up the number of resources on why the film is racist, but it's easiest to start with racebending or aang_aint_white and go from there.

... Well. Those reviews make it fairly clear. I think I'll just go watch the cartoon again.

Meh. I just checked the trailer, and it looks like a run of the mill action movie. Entertaining, but not $10 entertaining.

HP: yeah, ditto. Toy Story 3: I hadn't heard that, but even so, I'm sure it'll be good. Look what they did with UP.

Your comments on A-Team are encouraging. I've never seen the show either.

I know I shouldn't care, but I am strictly not watching Avatar TLB because of the racial thing. It is shameful to me that an Indian movie director couldn't cast an Asian kid.
Yes, it is so minor in the scheme of things it shouldn't matter. I know this. But it does, to me.
On your list, I only want to see Toy Story 3, HP: Deathly Hallows, and A-Team/
