*laughs*- while I don't necessarily agree with that, I do think some people are much too self-pitying. I'm always reminded of a quote by Tolstoy: "If you want to be happy, be." That's what I do, and despite my disadvantages, i'm always damn near ecstatic!
I think it's probably due to a lack of pride that comes with a life of servitude towards a god or a system... I'll again state that in my own eyes, I'm the smartest person alive, because I, in some way, developed all my opinions for myself, and if I believe that all my opinions are right, which I automatically do if they're my opinions, then I must be samrter than anyone who hasn't reached those opinions. If my opinions are changed, that just means that THEN I'll be the smartest person. It works for me anyhow.
