i read the book and EVERYONE in the story is supposed to be irish, which makes the cutesy, barf-inducing plot more enjoyable, b/c who doesn't enjoy the irish? however, the book is still chick-lit to the enth degree, and when i saw the preview for this movie, with hilary swank in the lead, i thought NOOOOOO WAYYYYYY they made this into a movie!!!! with american actors playing british roles (pet peeve, like anne hathaway as jane austen in "becoming jane"). and hilary swank looks sooooo bony and gross!!!
