Dev couldn't stop fidgeting. He and Tom were waiting for the marriage commissioner to come get them so she could perform the ceremony in her office. A nice older couple they had met while waiting in line to get their marriage certificate had been kind enough to be their witnesses, and the lady smiled at him

"Sweet liar." Tom leaned over and kissed him. "No one looks better than you."

Dev shook his head. "You're not sitting where I am, mister," he said softly.

"Is this when we should have the talk about who is in charge in this marriage?" Tom teased.

Dev laughed at that. "I thought I was in charge."
