So, Gemma and I have taken the plunge and purchased this house:

We exchanged contracts yesterday for a total price of £153,000.

Yep. just station road between us.
I can imagine being a lot more keen on trips to the Crown and the Vic at short notice.

Cheers. It is amazing how quickly a house can go if you aren't careful. In the house we have purchased, they tarmac'd a path on the side, but covered the air brick. Now the floor in the 2nd reception room and the hallway. What probably cost them a couple of hundred quid caused about four grand of damage.
