Ex: General Mills awhile back had a huge ad campaign crowing about how all their cereals have gone back to using whole grains. Sounds wholesome and healthy, what a great company, right? But how many people knew how or when they STOPPED using whole grains?
Marketing is all about taking influencing someone's unconscious mind, so it's not quite so straightforward as morons who knew what was in the box and shoved it down their kids' throats anyways. More like taking advantage of peoples' trust that surely a company wouldn't make something bad for kids, and then market it as nutritional utopia. That would be lying!
