i dont know why, but ive always had a bad image of ryerson. but a lot of people are suggesting ryerson, so i dont know... i guess ill have to check it out. but thanks galen!
- no worries, seriously. i was really anxious and couldn't even make my decision once i had gotten into the two schools i wanted. so there's no call to be stressed this early in the game! and in the end, the decision is YOURS and that's a good thing and a hard thing... (i'm totally preaching here, mea culpa!) BUT! you can do it! and when i come back and we check out all the cool toronto gallery culture that i'm missing in kingston i will share some of my times at university with you and maybe that'll help. but really- it seems so huge, but once you get there, it feels like you were meant to be there from the start....tear tear....what am i saying?????
university talks always spark lots of screaming and tears in my family.
I too have a bad image of ryerson, but if you're only interested in art and want to stick to the art department, you should really check it out. I've spoken to people in new media/film/architecture and they all love it. I know ryerson has a fashion program. but I probably wouldn't take courses outside of art.
york also has a good fine arts program, although I don't think it's at all design oriented. if you want to do traditional art it's also worth checking out (and social sciences courses are sooo good with amazing professors, if you're interested in those things). almost everyone I know that go/went to york say good things about it.
ocad, obviously. goes without saying. also good experiences all around.
and if you for some reason decide to do art as a secondary major to something else, I know u of t has some kind of shitty art classes.
