Drabble: You'd Better Not Kill The Groove
I'm still alive, and still writing, although rarely posting on LiveJournal these days. Glastonbury has inspired me to write a piece of whimsy, not really fanfic as such, which isn't suitable for posting anywhere else but I thought it a shame not to share it. A true 100-word drabble.
You'd Better Not Kill The Groove
Sophie Ellis-Bextor frowned as she looked at the concept art for her Kitchen Disco Tour 2024 stage set.
“On the far left, the Black Gates,” the set designer explained. “Next to them, Cirith Ungol and Minas Morgul. The pool on the right represents the Sea of Núrnen. The centre stage is the Plateau of Gorgoroth with, at the back, Mount Doom. In the centre, dominating everything, is Barad-dûr.”
“It’s… not quite what I expected,” Sophie said. “More… Spinal Tap than Kitchen Disco. What gave you the idea?”
“It’s inspired by your biggest hit,” the designer replied. “Mordor on the Dancefloor.”
