Ok, so I'm assuming this is about Hallie. Rather, I know it is because you told me so. I'm guessing you asw her with another guy, or heard about her being with another guy...Implied in the fifth through seventh lines. So I'm guessing you heard about this or whtever, and you feel lonely and replaced. You feel like you gave it your all and put everything you had into loving her and she all of the sudden has your instant replacement. Must've been how coffee beans felt when people came up with the idea for instant coffee. And now I'm guessing by what you've said here, she came back to you and you to talked and all she could say to you was "so...how've you been?" kinda things. And now you both feel like maybe working things out, or one of you hinted at the possibility of getting together someday again (implied in lines thirty-five through thirty-eight), but you don't know if she's still the person you fell in love with.
