Thank you!

And yeah...I couldn't resist adding that. Needed some levity after all the angst.

Hello to you too! I'm fine! Visiting my fiance right now, which is awesome. I hope all is well with you.

Naruto is new to me...my sister watched it and read it when we were younger, and I resisted, but now I'm finally relenting and watching it with her, and I love it. And yeah...the series does give a lot of detail, a lot more than I would expect from this kind of series, but it's always fun to explore those details further. I did really wonder about how the heck Naruto was being supported, so.

Yeah, there's always a bit of a migration. I'm shifting faster than I used to, but my fandom obsessions still last at least a year or two. But being in a fandom is so fun--it's always nice to have at least one. Any particular reason you're drifting away from anime that you can think of?

Erik, yes! The K is very important.

Awww! Wow, nineteen in one sitting, that's amazing! I tend to get tired after three or four episodes, even if I'm fascinated by what's going on. Right now I'm in the middle of a short filler arc, so I'm not super enthused about watching it at all, but I'm apparently not into the long morass of fillers yet. Bearing with it! And yeah, some of Naruto is definitely worth crying over. I haven't burst into tears yet, but I've definitely gotten teary-eyed.

I guess I've had the opposite experience? I used to not be terribly interested in the experiences of teenagers--I wanted to read about adults. Now, I'm very interested in reading and watching things about middle school/high school students, because I'm studying to be a teacher, and I see that age range from a different perspective now that I did when I was in the thick of it. Naruto is interesting to me because there's so much teaching involved. I do like series with adult characters, especially characters in the same weird young adult phase as me, ( ... )

It's you! It's really nice to hear from you again ^^

Know very little about Naruto, but (as always) I loved your focus on detail - you really got across the frustration and grind of the situation. Despite that, though, I thought Naruto's character came through well, you didn't angst him up (from what I know of him).

Good to hear from you too! A combination of just not being online as much in general and being sucked on to Tumblr has kept me away, but it's nice to know that some people are still using LJ--it's good to hear from you! ♥

Thanks!! It's not something that the series really focuses on, but I thought it was an interesting open space to play around in. And...well, Naruto is an interesting character. He's not "angsty", but he did, in canon, describe his childhood as being a living hell. So it's hard to know what balance to strike exactly, with him. You can't get too dark, but you can't get too light, either.

Yes - it's quieter, but still serving my purposes. Tumblr intrigues me but also makes me apprehensive so I'm sticking with LJ for the moment ;)

I thought you did it very well - I can imagine it being something the perky, crass character I vaguely know experiencing, without it seeming like a massive departure in tone.

I like Tumblr, but I like it for reading/informational purposes a lot more than I like it for actual communication. It's too easy to lose track of people with the interface, and it moves too quickly for anything meaningful. At least for me, because I'm sort of an Internet dinosaur. I'm trying to get back into LJ now, actually, I have missed it!

Thanks! Yeah...before actually seeing Naruto I wouldn't have thought something like this would work, but now that I've watched a bit, it seems pretty plausible to me. XD; I appreciate you reading it even though you're not into the series!
