Have you ever had a time when someone tells you something about yourself that is insulting but they don't mean it to be insulting and you can't, for the life of you, figure out why they are even telling it to you in the first place? I think people sometimes are like that - they say something without thinking that it might hurt you. It's the same thing with parents - they love talking with their friends about their kids, their health problems etc. While for me, it's not really nice feeling that people know about all my problems.

Yeah, I am actually glad that I have a good sense of humor about stuff otherwise I wouldn't be laughing about it :-)

Sadly, we have never met in actuality. However, I sincerely doubt that "middle-aged man" would be the first thing to pop into my head if we ever did hang out! People who are close to you sometimes have weird thoughts about the folks they care about. *shrug*

It was more of the fact that he was pushing a shopping cart and jumped on the back of it that reminded my mom of me but yeah, I agree that people who are close have weird thoughts about you sometimes :-)
