Nothing Gold Can Stay- Robert Frost

Oct 23, 2006 16:25

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

It snowed today in Fort Wayne. Autumn is fast fleeting to winter here. Sad day.

The first time I heard this poem was when my ex fiance was reading it to me.
Nice memories.. well, kinda since we're not together anymore but.. oh well, you know what I mean (do you?).
