Not a Great Day!

May 12, 2005 16:18

Well, I went for my 8 week follow-up after the knee surgery. They(the nurse practitioner) want me to do 4-6 weeks MORE of PT! I am so bummed! They don't want me to do it because my right leg is weak. They want me to do it because it looks smaller. They don't know if it's weaker or not, all they did was look at it. Didn't bother to test the ( Read more... )

I'm sorry about your continued PT duchess01 May 12 2005, 21:28:25 UTC
I would definitely ask them about it more in depth when you return on Monday. It is true the muscle is leaner than fat. Since they were looking at you w/the sweats on it makes even less sense. I would want a more thorough exam if I were you too. The important thing is that your leg is feeling better and you're mobile.

Good job on the N&S. That is quite a deal. I have a list of books I'd like to get too.

Thanks. I guess now I'm just hoping that the PT guys agree with me. We'll have to see.

As for the books, I picked up a bunch of old Sabrina Jeffries that came out before I read her. I also went to a UBS and found a HC copy of an old favorite, The Moonraker's Bride, for only $1.00!! And it's in much better shape than my current copy. :)

I'd give a toe to have a Target here. The nearest one is 78 miles away and that's not all that fun of a trip with a 3 year old in the car with you, no matter how much he likes to travel.

I'd do exactly as Jennie said. Have a 2nd opinion from the physical therapist. I mean, that's nuts...them just peering at your leg through sweat pants. WTF? I had to do PT after ripping a muscle in my back a few years ago and they always scheduled my appointments at 7am. And I'm so not a morning person. I was so very glad to be finished with that.

I wish I could do therapy at 7am, but then I'd be late for work. I have to be there at 7:30am. :) I honestly didn't mind the therapy itself. It was the timing and trying to fit it in around everything else. What a pain!

As for Target, our closest one is closer than yours, only 50 miles. So every time I'm near, I have to stop and check it out. I looove Target.

I third the advice about going to get a second opinion. That's a lot more weeks of PT based on them "eyeing" it.

I can't believe Target has N&S for just $30.00! I paid like $50.00 for it when it first came out at Best Buy. And, of course, it's still in the wrapper. My sister and I vow to do a N&S marathon weekend when we find the time. I'm predicting it'll be about 2012 at the earliest, lol.

I was shocked too! N&S for $29.99! I remember looking at the videos years ago. I know they were like $120.00. This was the only copy they had. Maybe they're coming out with a new version with all the extras or something.

Kath, your theory sounds valid to me! And I love Target too. It's my fave store, ever. BTW, how are you doing on those Harlan Coben books? I just started Tell No One, and it's already pulled me in. Actually since page one! SoooOOooo good.

I haven't had any time to read, Shirley! I'm finishing up my pesky IEP's. This weekend looks promising for reading time.....colder, grayer, and lots of rain. Perfect reading weather. :D

Which Sabrina Jeffries books did you get? I love her Lord and Swanlea Spinsters series!

I hope you really don't have to have 4 more wks of PT. I can understand to be on the safe side but really? THat's excessive, isn't it?

Loooove Target. We have one right down the street, and it's beautiful. There aren't that many in NYC, and in fact, there was an article in the paper about how Wal-Mart is so hated and being fought being built here, but Target has been embraced. Heee!

Ok, I'm back. I found one other one in the Lord series, The Forbidden Lord. I've already read and loved The Dangerous Lord. So all I need now is The Pirate Lord to complete the series. LOL! Nothing like reading totally out of order. ;)

I got two other SJ books as well, After the Abduction and A Dangerous Love. I don't know if either of those is a part of the Swanlea Spinsters. Are they?

Then I also picked up a Rebecca Hagen Lee I was missing and two new-to-me authors, Jillian Hunter and Lydia Joyce. That was about it. I can't wait to read this weekend. I hope it's as rainy as they said it would be. ;)

Yes yes! The Swanlea Spinsters series is kind of long, b/c it spins off the sisters too. In order:
Dangerous Love
A Notorious Love
After the Abduction
Dance of Seduction (I haven't read this one)
Married to the Viscount)

Pirate Lord--yeah baby, I love that one! Forbidden and Dangerous are great, too. I'm going to start In the Prince's Bed after I finish Flirting with Danger.
