I love it. What magnetizes me to them in a sense is how palpable the existing relationship between them is, whatever it is; that they remember each other clearly, opinionated about the memory too, and that whatever the criticism and teasing that snapshot depicts both concern and reassurance.
I could obviously talk way too long about it. Run while you can maybe!
Oh, hush. I agree with you completely; that was one of my favorite parts about the movie. How little was actually shown about each of the character's backstories, and yet - how much we can extrapolate. That was one of the most telling scenes, imo.
If I'm running, you are definitely coming with. ;)
Yes! That is it, the very thing. I can see how people who only watch it once feel like it scratched most characters' surfaces without giving us much else but even a second rewatch and most certainly a third et al reveals that in truth we have a great deal of implication to go on. It's really why it's so intriguing to pick them up like this I think. And yes definitely a revealer as far as all the scenes, and quick which felt very real and enough that I believed it, that whatever history we were supposed to get from 'Arthur stick in the mud' reference and so on was tangible.
In which case I might as well stay right here, yes? XDDD
Aw she isn't annoying. Her questions were written in a way that is not her fault but also the more I watch it the less This-Is-Expositiony they feel and it just seems more ordinary for her to ask them, as a student, and as the new addition to the team. I like that her questions feel chosen, like she doesn't just ask any old thing, she thinks about her curiosity and decides that This or That is the best question to ask or necessary. <3
Fairly sure I could stare all day....Wait, I did stare almost all day at some like this. Posted in inceptionfilm *Has a slight obsession*
Really anyone that comes across her at first will think she is just an annoying college student. But yeah, to me, she chooses her questions well. She wants to know exactly what she is getting into after all. Wish there was just more on her then asking questions. ;)
It does leave a lot of room for headcanon, which is almost aggravating sometimes because it must feel there are so many ways you could turn wrong but I think you have a good grasp on her and as long as it's that as well as you having fun then I think you're good.

And gah, looking over these quotes. I really don't know how they all put up with Ari and her annoying questions. ;)
