she's actually pretty damn wrong about the master's degree. you don't *always* need one to be successful. my manager doesn't even have a BA and is making close to six figures.

and plenty of people go the route where they get a full-time job and take, like, one class per semester. it is fine to do it that way.

dude, for now, just put off the degree and go to china. the rest can wait. and stop listening to your mom cause she's an idiot.

I have to agree with loud_raccoon. Moms seem to generally think intimidating and discouraging their children will make them more ...I don't know, knowledgeable about the world? Whatever they're thinking, they're damn crazy. :\
Enjoy yourself while you can, seriously. Once you get your degree and a "real job" you may not have the opportunity to go to China again. Forget satisfying someone who will never quite be satisfied.
