Today there were groups of businessmen with people in who didn't even work in the same company and wouldn't have even looked at each other had there not been all these bombings today.
The whole british psyche is based around stiff upper lips, so therefore, as much as i hate to say it, terrible events like this bring out the most british side of people. The history of britain has induced a minimal patroitism in every person born here which is totally exaggerated when something like this happens. This just means that everyone knows that everyone else is on their side, and they can smile and band together and have pride. It's strange, but it's how ol' blighty works.
mmm... on the way home from yours there were loads of people, who didnt know eachother, on the tram just talking about where they were etc. was kind of nice, considering that any other day it would have been a silent tram with 50 people on
Yeah - I bet that's what it was like in the Blitz (bare with me!) - I mean, I guess people looked out for each other more back then. A disaster like this brings out another side to people methinks...
