This was my second art entry for
spn_reversebang. Or rather, this was the first one I submitted, but the second one to receive a finished story. (The original person who claimed this piece of art never bothered to answer my messages and emails. I guess that means they dropped out. The mods found me a wonderful pinch hitter who wrote an awesome, hot story for my art.)
I'm putting this post up now so the writer,
reapertownusa, can link to it once she puts the finishing touches on her story. Starting on November 29th, you'll be able to read her story here:
Somewhere I Belong Under the cut is the original prompt, plus 6 new pieces of art I created just for the story. All digital/manips with many lovely picture tubes and scanned art thrown in to create a scrapbook effect.
Warning, one piece of art has the F word on it. Another contains half-naked angels. May be slightly NSFW.
My original art prompt, 1013:
I didn't create a thumbnail for this one because it's not that big. What I was trying to create here is a scrapbooky feel, with the suggestion of Claire having taken over for her father and acting as Castiel's vessel. The vague idea that I had was that it could be Claire, a bit older, and we see the change in her through the scrapbook she's been keeping since not that long before Castiel came into her family's lives.
I also hoped that the story could have Older Claire!Cas/Dean content. I didn't want Dean fucking a little girl, but Claire old enough to consent. Dean was intimate with Cas while he was in Jimmy's body, and somehow, Jimmy can no longer serve as the vessel. Dean thought he'd lost him forever. Then Claire shows up with Castiel inside her now, and she's had a big crush on Dean ever since she felt Castiel's love for him. Dean has a hard time with it at first because he feels like he's luring a young girl into a life her father never wanted for her, but eventually Claire convinces him she's ready for this, and that she's ready for a love affair with him. Dean not only gets Castiel back, but Claire as well.
I thought the conflict it would cause for Dean would be really interesting, and it has been, reading
reapertownusa's story about this twisted love triangle.
I wanted to create an actual scrapbook for Claire that Dean could look through, so I made 6 pages from it. The purpley background is a scanned page from one of my sticker books.

Claire's Scrapbook, Page 1 - My New Camera!
Claire gets a new camera for her birthday.
(The glitter and confetti are picture tubes, one of my many graphic loves.)
Claire's Scrapbook, Page 2 - I Love Kitties
A page all about how much Claire loves cats and other furry animals.
(The pic of Misha with the cat came from Misha's Twitter. I wanted to show the contrast between Jimmy and Castiel with a pic of Jimmy being playful and silly for his baby girl's camera, something Cas has never been. The kitty pics come from the
LOL Cats website.
Again, the embellishments [hearts, tag, yarn] are picture tubes. I can't remember exactly where I got the image of Cutie Tigger; somewhere on the net.)
Claire's Scrapbook, Page 3 - The Invasion of Castiel
The tone of Claire's scrapbook begins to change. Castiel has invaded Claire's family and taken her daddy away. This page shows how much she misses her father and how angry she is at Castiel for taking him. Her tears have fallen on the page and smeared the red ink with which she wrote.
Claire's Scrapbook, Page 4 - Beautiful Angels
Some time has passed. Claire cannot stop thinking about what it was like to have an angel inside her body and how that angel's love for Dean Winchester felt coursing through her. She begins to accept the idea that angels are all around her family, and that someday she may be called to be an angel's vessel. It wouldn't be so bad, would it, to be a beautiful, sexy angel? Especially one who is Dean Winchester's lover. This is how she deals with what the holy war has done to her family.
(These angel pictures were collected from several Internet sources, none of which gave direct credit to the original artist. If the art had a signature on it, I left it on as my best attempt to give credit. All ownership of these images remain the property of the artists; I just used them to create a collage, and no disrespect is meant to their creators by their use. I make absolutely no money from the digital art I've assembled here - this challenge was done for fun. Not only did the images allow me to illustrate Claire's feelings, but they're gorgeous, and I love looking at them just as much as she does! :D)
Claire's Scrapbook, Page 5 - Warrior Archangel
This is how Claire feels about Dean, the vessel of Michael the Archangel. She's been following him, taking pictures of him surreptitiously, and now she's made a page just for him, her angelic warrior with a gun and a sword. In her hurry to create, she's just torn the background out of some pictures instead of cutting them. More found art from the internet illustrate how she sees him as an angel.

Claire's Scrapbook, Last Page - My Answer is YES
Claire has finally accepted that she will be Castiel's vessel. In another pic she found on the Internet, a young woman embraces a naked male angel. It's symbolic of her acceptance of Castiel. She places one last picture of Dean next to her oath that she will serve God and his angels, almost the exact same words Castiel made Dean say during the time that they were trying to avert the Apocalypse.

Please do not take these images and claim them as your own. When I say that, I know that many of the angel and cat images are not mine, and I'm not saying that you can't make a kitty icon or something. What I mean is, please do not take entire or partial pages and claim that you made them. If you want to make an icon or something of that nature out of a portion of one of the pages that I specifically constructed on my own, I'd prefer that you ask me about it first (unless you're just cropping it down to Jensen's face or something like that) and give me credit. Again, this is a very touchy area, because some of the base art I did not create. Just ask me if you're in doubt of whether or not I would want credit for the use of that specific portion of a page.
