But I Haven't Thought of You Lately at All

I basically gave my entire tax refund to the Veronica Mars movie, but I'm so goddamn fucking excited because after weeks and weeks of grumbling that I'd missed out on tickets to the L.A. afterparty and cursing the fleeting moments when I saw a spot open up, I gave up hope a few hours before the end and changed my pledge and then FIVE MINUTES LATER ( Read more... )

I AM FULL OF ENVY.

I really wish I could have given something to that Kickstarter. I tracked it the whole time hoping some money would come my way that I could share, but alas. I will have to wait patiently and watch the awesomeness from the sidelines, like the rest of the peasants.

Yay! Glad you got tickets. I did get my refund just in time to contribute a few bucks to the cause, too. Yay movie! My sister (who is annoyingly accurate about predicting stuff) predicted on the first day, "I bet it hits 5 mil." I thought she was over-estimating. Shows what I know. Still, happiness.

I feel like I would like Minority Report better if it hadn't involved Tom Cruise. Actually I feel that way about every movie involving Tom Cruise.

I haven't read that many Richard Matheson short stories, but his novels are apparently much better. In fact, his best novel is I Am Legend, made in a relatively good (if with a stupid ending) Will Smith movie. Unlike the movie, it's a lot more depressing and melancholic, with a lot more introspection due to the first person narration.
"The world's gone mad, he thought. The dead walk about and I think nothing of it.
The return of corpses has become trivial in import. How quickly one accepts the incredible if only one sees it."
