Never mind how I came upon this story, just, what exactly is the point of it? What lesson are we learning here? I'm really at a loss here.

In more words: It's basically a reworking of the Sodom and Gomorrah story in Genesis, of which the moral is apparently It's Important to Be a Good Host, with a side of Women are Currency.
