Well as it turns out, my parents came to me. they were concerned and brought it up themselves. they say they're going to send me to 'talk to someone who knows how to handle this better', aka a shrink. i dont know if it will actually happen, but i think it might be good for me. i have alot on my mind, and going down the path of an eating disorder is ( Read more... )

I just have to say, I don't think you come off as a "silly blonde Barbie girl" at all. You're very perceptive. You knew you had a problem and you're dealing with it. 99 percent of the people in the world aren't that pro-active. I'll message you for your number in the next couple days. See you at Carleton, hun :)

I'll be sad to see you go but I respect your wishes. To be honest, I don't think you sound like "a silly blonde barbie doll." Drinking and fun and friends are a part of life and writing about them doesn't make you superficial. People always have stuff going on under the surface and I'm glad your parents are recoignizing what you are going through and getting you a therapist. Therapy has been very beneficial for me and I hope it is for you too. Susanna Kaysen once said "what you don't know when you're 18 is that it's going to be bad for a while but then it's going to be really good again." I'm only 20 but I've found that to be true, and comforting.

Best of luck to you! xo
