I just got back from seeing the B-52s at the 930 Club here in DC... amazingly enough, I'd never seen them live before. They're pretty firmly a nostalgia act at this point (double the normal ticket price, half the show length, oldest, rudest crowd I've ever seen) but still SO FUCKING AWESOME. I had a low-level Kate Pierson crush, based solely on the cover of their first album, but then it went STRATOSPHERIC when she and Iggy did the video for "Candy".

Fifteen in the summer of 1990, eh? Now I wish I could do math...

Oh my god, "Candy." What a terrible fucking song and yet I love it so. Pretty much anything she ever sang on is awesome-- "Me in Honey" is the best driving song EVAR.

Also, 15 in the summer of 1990 means I am OLD. So the hell with math! On the other hand, Kate is ***62*** which is fairly mindblowing considering how awesome she still looks and sounds.
