Pendragon is awesome.

(OT: My sister's contribution to her book club's reading of The Mists of Avalon-"It's the only book I've read where you are hoping the brother and sister get romantic because they are just so great together!" She loved the book. Hee, she read total fantasy!)

3 whole chords is all you need!

I love to sing - never could play an instrument, except amazing grace on the piano - and I miss doing that. I was in choir in school and now I only get to belt out tunes when I'm playing the radio. Good for you for getting back in the swing of things!

Don't you know? Nylon strings were totally redeemed by Jake Thackray. FACT.

English chansonnier. Was a teacher in Yorkshire, wrote songs for the Christmas pageant, went pro from there. Much more popular since he died.

Very dry wit, but still tender. Wit not always appreciated in the manner it was intended. Some songs present difficulties given the then-advent of feminism and its reception, but if you can listen to Sonny Boy Williamson without cringing, Thackray's a breeze.

"Sister Josephine", "Ulysses", "The Cactus" are good places to start. The less produced he is, the better.

ALL GOLD MY FRIEND
