So today, I got up a little late and still decided to do my LJ entry.
I managed to complete it within an hour and so I was damn late.
I decided to take a cab but I wasn't late enough to skip the 10am ERP gantry.
There's a bridal exhibition at the Suntec Atrium.
If Simon Cowell were a fashion designer, he would say," Forgettable!"
but then again they were quite horrible so maybe scary UNFORGETTABLE is quite appropriate.
But I guess after watching the bridal shoot in SATC, every other bridal gown pales in comparison. :)
A couple of movie displays in the store.
1. Sex and the City display.
Have I mentioned how much I love the movie!! Notice the SATC movie book. It's very nice!
A lot of movie quotes and lovely pictures.
Retailing at $44.90, ahem, at my store, you get 20% off ($35.90) ;P
2. Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull
I've heard differing opinions about the movie,
but I still think it's a must-watch, at least for me.
A lot of nostalgia involved I suppose, looking forward!
3. I had a late breakfast so I went shopping at Carrefour during my lunchhour.
With every $50 purchase, you get to redeem a $20 voucher, that you can use with a min $100 purchase from 02-11 June 08.
so it's a 20% discount off your next purchase, or an overall 13% discount.
(valid for the 1st 1000 customers daily, 1 per customer per day, until Sunday)
2. I walked round and round but couldn't find anything to buy.
Finally I decided to buy up all the Eclipse mints, since I consume them everyday.
Normal price is $3.35, carrefour offer price is $2.95, and so I bought 18 tins to make it $50. :P
The cashier very funny, she stared at me like I was crazy. ;P
3. My hardearned $20 voucher. Now how am I going to find $100 of stuff to buy??
A lot of people came to visit me today.
Mr BG stopped by during lunch.
Note to everyone: lunchtime 12-2pm, is the worst time to visit me.
The lunchtime crowd is in the store and I'm usually running around like a headless chicken.
If you want personalized service and a leisurely tour around the store, after 3pm would be a good time. :)
Other friends.
1. My regular smoking kaki now. :P
2. My new friend, J. He has 12 chandeliers in his house and is doing a major renaissance renovation to his place. He said he'll invite me over to his house warming, I'm quite looking forward. ;)
My favourite ABC NYer turned DBer who's actually a comic geek under that fratboy cutie look.
We met at Kenneth's 2007 Christmas party and he stops by every Sat just before his DB training, well sort of, kind of.
A customer asked for this book some weeks ago and we never located it, until today.
It's very cute!! but comes at a hefty price of $8.45.
geddit geddit??!! ;)
So Mr BG and meeh meeh came in the evening to have dinner with me.
It's the end of the month, and so I'm in a frantic rush to use up all my discount vouchers and coupons before the 31st!
3. I had a $50 voucher at Shin Kushiya (with min $100 purchase)
so we decided to check out the place.
2. Very nice! They're quite famous for their Japanese styled skewered meats done over charcoal grills.
You can whiff the aroma the moment you enter the restaurant.
There's even a theatre styled backdrop where you can see the chefs "sataying" the yakitoris.
I have no clue what we had because I was stoned tired.
I told them what the game plan was and just go do the ordering while I went to the toilet.
1. This is the sashimi salad ($13.90) (duh! it's obviously not the soup!)
2. This is the wagfu beef ($27.95), not bad, very tender and yummy. GOOD!
They ordered the mixed meats platter, with a variety of their best choices.
21 sticks altogether for $47.95, 3 sticks of 7 different types.
Not very impressive although they were rather tender and juicy.
Not much difference from the supermarket ToriQ sticks.
The mushrooms were very juicy, and the riceball nicely blackened.
Desserts, we had 1. tofu cheese cake ($4.50) which SOMEONE said was VERY GOOD. forgettable!
2. green tea red bean parfait ($7.50). This one was quite excellent.
highly recommended.
3. The total came up to $129ish and BG picked up the bill! Thank you!!
They gave us free beer or lychee martini coupons for the next time.
The food wasn't too impressive but maybe we'll try their sushi and sashimi the next time.
The interior decor takes full marks though. It's a really beautiful restaurant.
We left the restaurant and meeh meeh asked what other vouchers I had to use up.
MM "do you have one for this shop? pointing to The Executive"
SP "this one? got! of course got!"
MM "wah. you should get a folder to file them all together"
SP "I do" and took out my clear folder with my vouchers, filed alphabetically.
JUST JOKING!! ;P
So we went into The Executive, where they had an offer for ties at $49 each,
Buy 2, get 1 free. So we each chose a tie and paid up lor.
$17 for a tie, not bad lah. quite decent quality.
We adjourned to Gloria Jean's to use up the Buy 1 Get 1 Free vouchers.
We got 3 Italian Sodas and 1 Hot Chocolate.
Then the lady came by and gave us even more coffee coupons. OMG!
So if you're in the Suntec Area and need coupons, come and find me hor.
