http://sonic.wikia.com/wiki/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_%28character%29Personality: Sonic has been described as being “like the wind” and is noted for being free-spirited and adventurous. Instead of having a fancy title, which he certainly deserves, he would rather be called by his name. Several characters, friends and foes alike, have addressed him otherwise and he either corrects them or ignores it. More than likely he’ll ignore it. Sonic is incredibly laid back. He would rather lounge than work, and though he does enjoy a good run if one were to measure his life-style they would agree that he’s lazy more than anything. Though more likely to roll with the course of nature he certainly won’t rest in the face of injustice. He’ll put himself at risk to ensure the safety of others.
Sometimes he simply can’t resist a challenge. This can be problematic. Since he is also stubborn he would never back down from a fight or a race. He takes it upon himself to ‘save the world’ time and time again but he tends to think his role as a hero is more for fun than anything. When there is a time of crisis at hand he’ll push aside his desire to find fun in an activity and go all serious. For example.. during the ARK event, when the space station was about to collide with the earth, he put all jokes and games aside to keep that from happening. Once it was all over he looked back at the event as an incredible adventure where he once again saved the day. In addition to being adventurous and heroic Sonic has an incredible capacity to forgive people, including his arch-nemesis Dr. Eggman at times. Even though he strongly believes that man belongs behind bars on occasion he’ll put those feelings aside to work with him when a greater threat is at hand.
Because he is stubborn he will fight until the bitter end. He will hide pain and fear (unless Amy Rose gets upset) or exhaustion until he drops. Sometimes his will to keep on fighting surpasses his actual ability. He’s over-confident, which can be seen as a positive attribute and at the same time a weakness. Because he is confident he also wouldn’t admit that a task is too difficult for him. Even if he narrowly escaped an exploding ship, as he did in Sonic Heroes, he would say that they made it out piece of cake.
Sonics’ favorite food is chili dogs. He can down one after another at an alarming rate, never slowed by them, and most certainly never putting on weight from the massive consumption. He also likes rock music and in the cartoon Sonic Underground he was the guitarist in his own band. Official art suggests that he has a personal hobby of being a DJ and furthermore enjoys break dancing. His fighting moves in Sonic Battle are based on break dancing as mentioned in the attack descriptions and in Super Smash Bros. Brawl his taunts include a move where he twirls on the ground while calling “C’mon, step it up!”
Though some canons, such as Sonic X, state that he is pure of heart and intention, he also has a very mischievous side, like any teenager. But if he had to choose he’d rather comfort people than see them wound up, so he doesn’t go out of his way to distress individuals but occasionally he does like to joke.
What your character can offer: All you need to know about Sonic.. he is fast. Credited with being the fastest thing alive, Sonic can run up to speeds higher than Mach 1. In Sonic Adventure DX it is stated that ‘he’s the world’s fastest hypersonic hedgehog’ which is at a staggering speed of 3,800 mph (not going to take literally - the game was for kids and most of the dialogue/descriptions incredibly over-exaggerated). He can run backwards at full speed just as well as forwards, as shown in the opening scene to Sonic Heroes. He can also sleep while running, as shown during an episode of Sonic X, though he isn’t quite sure where he’s going or what he’s doing while unconscious/running. Due to his speed he is able to scale right up the walls of buildings and run over water. His primary offensive maneuver is the Spin Attack, or Sonic Spin Attack. He curls into a ball, the natural defense mechanism for a hedgehog, and propels himself at enemies or objects. In addition to attacking while curled up he can charge up a spin by rotating on the ground rapidly before taking off, giving him a boost of speed. In Sonic Battle he primarily fights with his feet by executing break dancing moves. His hands come into play frequently when he flips forward or is recoiling from an attack. His punches are weak but kicks rather strong. And though he doesn’t pack much physical strength because of his speed he can hit over and over. There is a little move that’s more for show than anything called the Peel Out. What he does is remain still but move his feet fast enough to where they make the illusion of a figure 8. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl he does this as a taunt while teasing “you’re too slow!”
What items will they be bringing with them? Other than his awesome self? Those shoes! He needs his shoes.
Third-Person Sample:It was one of those days where the rain was just coming down in buckets. Dark clouds eclipsed the sky, causing a general mood of depression and uneasiness. Puddles filled up the streets and turned the otherwise hard ground to squishy mud. Even the animals knew not to come out to play; they hid in their homes, some underground and others in trees, to avoid the merciless onslaught the bullet-like rain threatened to pelt their fur with.
This was why Sonic hated water. Not only was being emerged in it a speed hindrance, but rain made the ground slippery thus making it difficult for his shoes to grip when he was running. Not to mention the fact that running in rain made him soaking wet. Like a car spinning hind wheels while stuck in the mud, when Sonic ran, not only did he make a mess of himself, but everything that dare get in his path.
One would have to wonder why the hedgehog would pick this day, of all days, to go for a run. It wasn’t like the cloudy skies overhead didn’t warn him of what was to come. The signs were as clear as the day was a few hours ago. Yet, for some reason, the blue hedgehog was outside, being soaked, being splattered with mud kicked up from his own shoes, half of his mind convinced that perhaps he was a masochist for enduring this.
Then there it was, what he had been waiting for! Lightning flashed across the sky, and Sonic took off. He loved to race the light and thunder. Sometimes he'd run right along with it, listening to the boom until it faded. If there was one redeemable thing about rain it was the challenge it imposed. As much as he held distaste for this type of weather and the obstructions it presented him, at the same time there wasn’t a better time to test his skill and wit. Faster than the speed of sound and light? You bet!
First-Person Sample: [There is a significant amount of squawking occupying the feed until a voice interrupts. The tone suggests confusion, something that wouldn’t be too far off from what the sender is feeling.] Hey, guys? People over this communicating berry thing? A gigantic yellow chicken just landed in the middle of the city, and I’m not sure what to do about it. This guy’s fast, not as fast as me, and eats a lot. It’s also making these “Kweh” noises!
What the heck does it want? Usually I can tell; everybody talks where I’m from! I don’t know what “Kweh” means. Hey, bird!
[Obviously talking to the bird now, failing to shut off or turn away the microphone.] You like chili dogs?
[Kweh!]
I thought so. You want to race!?
[Kweh!]
Alright, bring it on!
