Synchronicity

As to playing live music, I've been in a slump. It's sad to admit, but I haven't been playing much in the last couple of years. One problem was that I was losing the feeling in my right arm and hand--not exactly great for anyone, but for a drummer? I had an operation last June that took care of it, literally overnight. Happy accidents are far more likely to occur when you are all experienced professionals who enjoy what you do and love to make music!

That's very true. "Happy accident" is not a precise description of what it was, but you get the idea. Playing is supposed to be fun. We did a cool version of Coltrane's "Equinox" to close out the night too!

Synchronicity is the best. I love it, I live it...

I think my favourite instance of incredible synchronicity in recent years was the time that my husband and I went to HOST...we'd planned to go on that day for a few days before...and we hadn't told anyone. Well we walked in and who should be sitting there but three of my closest friends in town! And not one of them had planned on being there that night! The one had been in the area for an art show, had invited the second but hadn't expected him to come...but he had come, a delightful surprise. The third lived in the area, had decided to pop in for dinner...so as a result, all five of us converged on the same restaurant at the same time on the same day...with no prior arrangements...at least lol...none we were conciously aware of...perhaps we were all busily IMing each other in the dreamstate beforehand... ;o)
