1. I love it, because I already have friends there, and it has an amazing journalism program, and I don't have to worry about going too far away and not being able to come home, etc. etc.
2. I hate it, because I hate the state of Maryland. I hate the governor, I hate the schools, I hate how snobby people are here. I hate condominiums and how fake everything is - Maryland's just one big plastic state, full of strip malls and utter suburbia. And I just can't stand to be so close to my parents. I know they won't leave me alone if I stay here. Plus, they know people at UM, so of course they'll be keeping tabs on me. I need independence, you know? And I don't want to see most of the class of '05 either.
So yeah, all in all, I agree with you, it's really a tough choice. Part of me wants to stay here with what I'm accustomed to, and part of me wants to get away sooo much.
