Kevin entered the flower shop, and began perusing the different selections.
"Hi, may I help you?"
The speaker had light brown eyes and sandy hair. He wore a pale green shirt under his orange vest. His name tag read "Gary."
"I'm looking for something special."
"What about roses?"
"No, too cliche."
"Are the flowers for a lover, a family member. . .?"
"My husband." Kevin couldn't help but feel a bit of pride in the words.
"I recommend a bouquet of red chrysanthemums, white clover, great yellow daffodils, garden daisies and forget-me-nots."
"Sounds good."
Gary gathered the bouquet.
As Kevin paid, he reflected on the knowledge that Gary was someone Kevin would find himself attracted to if he was still single. But thanks to Scotty he no longer needed to be on the outlook for a new date.

"Scotty!" Kevin called, walking into the loft.
"Yeah, what's up?" Scotty walked in eating a bowl of cereal.
"I have a present for you." Kevin held out the flowers.
"They're beautiful! What did I do to deserve such a present?"
"You're a wonderful husband and I don't think I let you know enough how much I appreciate that."
"Well thank you."
"I met someone today."
"Oh?" Scotty felt himself stiffen despite his confidence in his marriage.
"But I also knew I had the best man waiting for me back home."
"So no temptation?"
"None. I could never love someone how I love you."
"I love you too Kevin."
Scotty enveloped him in a hug.
"Sometimes staying faithful is easier than not," Kevin said.
