lidlesseye728. Continuation of "Mexico" (although I took some liberties and included some stuff from the spring break episode). Dedicated to all those who didn't think there was enough Kevin/Scotty in the episode ;). And yes, the title is supposed to sound like an episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S
"Hello," Scotty sleepily answered the phone.
"Good morning sunshine."
"Kevin!" Scotty sat up in bed. "Sweetheart how are you?'
"I have a bit of an alcohol influenced headache. And I'm upset I didn't get to celebrate my anniversary with my husband. I love you Scotty. Happy belated anniversary."
"I love you too. so, alcohol influence headache?"
"Yeah. . .these girls wanted to give us lap dances and when they found out I was gay, they sent over the shot man. He frequented us quite a bit."
"Mmm, so was he cute?"
Kevin could picture the way Scotty's face scrunched as he gossiped over other men's looks.
"Oh Scotty," Kevin laughed. "You're the one I want. You know that."
"I miss you too Kev."
"I'll be home soon."
"I hope so."
"I don't know how much longer I can handle being away from you. Are you sure you can't come down here?"
"I have work."
"I know. I'm just being selfish."
"I'll make it up to you when you get back, I promise."
"You're the greatest, you know that Scotty?"
"Aww Kevin, don't make me love you too much when you're not here for me to kiss."
There was a knock at Kevin's door and Sarah poked her head in.
"Mom says it's breakfast time. Tell Scotty hi."
"Thanks Sarah.
"Hey I have to go. Sarah says hi."
"Alright. Have a good day."
"I love you Scotty."
"Love you too."
Kevin stretched his arms after stepping off the bus. He scanned the crowd and caught a young man's eye.
"Oh my god!"
"Kevin, what is it?" Kitty asked.
But Kevin didn't answer. Instead he ran toward the man.
"Scotty!" he said as the familiar arms wrapped around him. "I'm so glad you're here."
"I've missed you," Scotty said as he kissed Kevin's head.
"Thank you for letting me go."
"You're welcome."
With Kevin looking up at him, Scotty bent down to kiss Kevin.
"Hey! Found him!" Justin called. "He's kissing some guy."
"Kevin!" Nora exclaimed, appalled.
Kevin and Scotty turned to her.
"Nevermind, it's just Scotty," Justin said.
"I'm assuming you're taking Kevin home."
"Yes Nora."
"I'll see you two later."
"So how did it go?" Scotty asked, as they drove home.
"Well, we couldn't convince Tommy to come home. But. . .I don't know. There was something different about Tommy. If he wasn't my brother, if I didn't know he had a family, I'd believe he belonged there. I'd be proud of him. But knowing all he gave up, all he left behind. . .how can I be proud?"
"Do you have to agree with the path to be proud of the result?"
"I don't know. It's all so weird."
"Wait here," Scotty said as he pulled into a parking space.
Kevin sat in the passenger's seat confused. Scotty opened his door.
"This way Mr. Walker."
Scotty escorted Kevin up to their loft. He pulled some matches from his pocket and lit the candles on the living room table. Kevin stood off to the side, watching with a little confusion, and great humor.
"Your date will be here shortly, Mr. Walker."
After putting the food on the stove to heat, Scotty came back.
"Oh Kevin, you're here already! I hope I'm not too late."
Kevin couldn't help but laugh as he hugged Scotty in mock greeting.
"No no, I just got here."
"Well I talked to the chef, and our food will be a while. What do you say we wait on that couch over there?"
"Will they allow us?" Kevin asked in mock horror.
"Oh, I know someone," Scotty said with a wink.
Scotty sat down on the couch and Kevin sat next to him, laying his head on Scotty's shoulder.
"Happy anniversary Kevin."
"Scotty, you're amazing for this. Happy anniversary."
After a moment of silence, Kevin said, "It's good to be home."
