Kudos on getting your own place again! :D But what're Ashley's parents griping about you for? You're good looking, smart, and have a career in the works. *shrug* Just hard to please?

*LOVES* Let us know when you're moved in so we can go harass you! <3

To them I'm a poor nerd. Men should be rich, well-dressed, and talk about sports and politics while practicing such hobbies as windsurfing or working the stock market or something. It doesn't hurt that her ex-husband was kind of a nerd too, so they keep seeing in me a lot of him.

Yay for getting your own place! Now, it won't take nearly as long to meet for coffee (which we need to do again!)

Yes we do! Sorry, with my work schedule changing it's made things difficult. I don't get as many days off because he's shortened my working hours per day, so to still get near 40 I have to work 6 days a week most weeks. Hopefully that'll change soon. And as it stands generally the days off I get, like most Saturdays now, are spent going to that teacher training class all day.

But we will soon! Fear not!

On the teachers schedule, it's not as sweet as it sounds. Don't get me wrong, it's still really nice, but if you're expecting all that time off and away, then you will be disappointed. You'll work weekends, just at home, you'll work late on weekdays, sometimes way, way late, you'll spend part of your summer either working on crap for the next year or attending staff development to get your required hours in. Depending on where you work and what grade level you'll go all day without having what seems like a break, your 30 minute lunch is actually only going to be 20 ( ... )

Nah, I know that I'll have to work weekends and I'll be at work late at times. That's every job. But just the fact that "by design" the job goes for that sort of thing is amazing. If I have MOST weekends off and get MOST of my summer and am USUALLY off by 5 or 6 [both an improvement on 7-7:30], I'm fine with that. Short break? I only occasionally get any break at all in my current position, so I'm all set!

I'm also in the Texas Teachers program and looking for a job. The best thing you can do is substitute this semester in a school you might want to work in. Good luck and maybe we can go to the next national trainers thing together this summer.
