Well let see, I went out to Devil's Lake State Park this weekend for some camping and little hiking. I just started my third week up here in Mad town, I have turned in some graded assignments for three of my four classes and I think I have done well on all of them (though I still have not seen the grades yet, that's later this week). On a tour of the UW campus I went on they lead us through the physics lab, which had The Madison Symmetric Torus lab viewable through a security window. The is used to produce hot plasma for research in plasma physics and fusion power generation. So today was the orientation to my grad program, a fun filled day power points and meet-n-greats. A total of 16 of us desired to attend this year, four of them are PhD. The group itself seems to have a really cool dynamic; MDs, paramedics, medical researchers, a lecture with the University (lowest level of professor, even below adjunct), some who ( Read more... )

I have a sink hole in my front yard, or more likely an underground landslide. There is a foot in diameter opening in a cavity under the front yard, which seems to be around 3 feet deep, 3-4 feet wide, and at lest 6 feet long if not more...it also looks like it opened when a neighbor sept into it ( Read more... )

So I'm spending my first night in my new home in Madison, previous tenet moved out early so I got in tonight. It's nice house, looks around 50 years old, I share the 1st floor with a recent psych grad you works with autistic child during one on one therapy and the landlord lives on the second floor. Well I'm back at parents for one last push at packing and then I hit the road and reach Madison on the 15th. Since the last post spent two weeks with Sarah over at her parents, which was nice.
