Stuff about me and fandom

Aug 04, 2010 16:44

I decided that I would post every day in August.  It's the fourth and so far I have not posted.  Well done me.  I figured it was time to use this journal for more than just having an account to comment on other people's fan-fiction.

I babble about myself under here )

you are all very interested i am sure, rose/doctor, me, ships, picture, shipping, doctor who, fandom

I used to write original stories - too many to count. Then one day I wrote a little Nine/Rose fic. I showed it to my sister, but she had no interest in it or my writing, and so that I would stop annoying her she said that I should post it online. My reaction was "Do people do that?"

That's how I discovered Teaspoon.

I don't write original fic now.
Nine, Ten, Ten.5 and Rose have taken over.

Btw - I loved the 'Suddenly Mulder and Scully were kissing!' line. I was like that, only with Nine/Rose. :D

Good luck with continuing to post throughout August. :)

That was my favorite bit as well :) I've never written anything original that was not for a class or something. I might have to try that someday.

Good luck with continuing to post throughout August. :) Thanks! I'm gonna do my best.

I want to read Foxfic. =( Looked I coined a new term for you! Or should it be Jfic?

You really do? Are you sure? It's truly terrible. I've been posting it on a fanfic community but I also have it locked on my journal just as a place to keep it. I've though about unlocking it before, but was afraid of anyone I know finding it through internet stalking (the fist several things I posted were on anonymous meme coms that's how worried I've been), but if you really want to read it the links are all in my memories. Pretty much everything I've written (and gotten up the nerve to actually post) is on time and chips and I have a tag called 'my fic on time and chips'. Some things were posted a couple of different places as well, but everything is there.

Also I like Foxfic-it does have a nice ring to it-even if Jfic fits with the established format for naming things after me.

I truly do. =) I thought that Foxfic was the catchier one too. Here, in the interest of staying somewhat on topic, I will use one of my Who icons. I found them on the internet. Did you know that the internet exists? I didn't until my freshman year of college. Talk about behind the times.

I only beat you by a few years and my real interneting did not start until I got to college and had my own (not my parents) computer. Boy was that ever liberating :)

I too, did not get my driver's license until I was either 24 or 25, so you're not alone there. I hope your new job goes well, despite your hatred of cars!

Suddenly Mulder and Scully were kissing!
Oh man, me too. Discovering that canon was just a starting point for ANYTHING and that fandom was interactive and there was a whole world of it on the internet was vastly exciting for me.

LOL @ the fandom intervention- I'm glad you figured out a creative way to deal with it. I'm pretty sure my roommate thinks I'm crazy for my devotion to fandom and Doctor/Rose in particular. If you're going to have a fandom obsession, though, I think Doctor/Rose is a good one!

Yeah most of my rl friends think I am crazy, I do have a lot of fandom friends too though that do understand. I take things to a bit of an extreme sometimes, but Doctor/Rose is worth of a bit of fanaticism I think.
