(no subject)
i have tons.. let them load before you look because itll be easier for you. stories too, and captions on the pictures.
alright. so.. we went to anchorage for the first two days.. checked into the hotel, messed around in town, etc.. at a little after 3 we went to hilltop, which is basically a terrain park half as wide as hooter but as long, and not as steep.. 20$ for that, which is a ripoff, and it got boring fast, so we didnt go the next day. it was fun though. the next day, we went to the alaska zoo and some of the malls.. the zoo, or prison as i called it, was kind of sad because almost all the animals looked like they were super unhappy, but it was cool to see some of them like the llamas and camels and the tigers. which most people wouldnt expect in alaska. i made sure you could see the cages or whatever in some of the pictures. then....... the next morning, we got up and drove to girdwood for alyeska. checked into the prince hotel which is nice but i didnt like the room we had.. then went snowboarding. it was good, but the next day was way better after it snowed. it was... super good. the powder was perfect.. not too deep but not too "shallow," and you could keep your speed up and you never sunk in. i was having sooo much fun. then.. the next day (today), i didnt go because we had to leave at like.. 3.. and i didnt want to get up, and my knee was all weird.. it couldnt move or something and it hurt. so i went into the lobby at 11 ish and sat there on the internet until about 1, which is when i wrote the last "blog." so.. then we drove back to anchorage and went to the mall again. and.. then went to the airport and came home.
i emailed myself a reminder of some of the things i wanted to tell you about that were fun/funny, so.. here. ill try to remember them in order.
1. we were going somewhere from our first hotel in anchorage and there was a moose behind it on the way out.. took a bunch of pictures, and saw another one a ways away. some guy walked by and was like "holy shit fuck theres drugs everywhere oh my god everyone freak out!" or something.
2. in zumiez in the diamond mall, there was this rad guy working there who reminded me of josh harmony (look him up if you care to know) and i told him, and we started talking about skateboarding and rolling ankles and how ruca (aka RVCA) is a fun company. he was so rad.. and nice.. and funny.. it was cool. then i bought my shoes.
3. in the northway mall (super ghetto) this stereotypical trailer park girl was standing outside with some gangster guys and i saw her looking at joshs and my (how do you say that?) pants, which i suppose are tight, and shes like.. "are yall from anchorage?" like we were weird. it was cool. that mall is so scary.
4. me and josh got kicked out of the 5th avenue mall, which is the big fancy one downtown. he had to poo, and i had to pee, and there were two stalls.. i was standing in one peeing and laughing cause i could hear josh pooing (yes, its funny.) and i didnt know, but two security guards were watching us i guess cause laughing is suspicious, and then he told us to come out and kicked us out and was like "what were you doing in there standing there laughing?!" being a total ass and assuming we were doing something bad. but its a cool story.. it was rad. we were leaving anyway.
5. we were in the lodge in alyeska and there was a dog walking around and he came over to us.. we named him mr treats. then he followed us outside and we discovered that he liked to eat snowballs and do backflips (for real). later, according to josh, he got a degree and was renamed dr treats. there was also a dog that we didnt really know, but we named her mrs goodies.
6. yesterday (friday), the snow was so good.. as i said before. the terrain park was fun but the snow was weird over there and it was hard to get speed in the parts where it was almost flat (normal, but it was even harder.. your edges felt sticky). did the half pipe.. first time in one of those. but it was cool.. i got as much speed as i could which was hard because of the snow (theyre usually almost made of ice) and i did big floaty backside 180s up at the top of the lip.
7. that night, my mom went to dinner with her friends from anchorage, and me and josh and nate ordered 113$ of room service dinner. its way overpriced.
8. then we went walking around in the hotel, and these two girls who were probably in 8th or 9th grade, with their little sister or something, were looking at us.. and doing that "lets walk around to check those boys out but act like were not" thing.. i guess we did too, but it was because they were. nate was being annoying though, and i heard them say "that kid is annoying" once even. but they totally wanted me and josh. not really. okay, they did, but that was still a joke. arent i such a man.
9. at the airport today we got burker king and then sat (literally) on the moving sidewalk thing and ate it.. when it got to the end we jumped over to the other side and rode it back the other way and so on until we were done eating. everyone was laughing at us, in a good way, because we were so cool.
