The Beach

Sep 08, 2009 01:21

The beach had thin white sand, calm waves and sunbathing area, with some chairs and umbrellas and a nearby bar. At the end of the sore, there are rocks to explore and snorkeling to see the underwater creatures that live in the small reef. On the other end, a small dock with no boats, but a perfect spot for either jumping into the water or fishing.

After the explosion Toris was relieved to see that everyone seemed to be alright. He could feel fear, worry, surprise, and an array of other emotions but no pain other than from those who had been directly involved in the blast.

He looked over the destruction on the beach and wondered if it was a good place to still be.

From around a group of trees emerged Iceland, running like there was no tomorrow. There was smoke billowing up from the side of the beach that he had just come from. His expression was one of panic, distress, and fear.

Wide crystal blue eyes locked on Lithuania. From his position he shouted towards him.

"Lithuania, fire!! A tree is on fire!! Hurry, gather help before it spreads!!"

And with that, Sindri turned around and jolted back out of sight, obviously headed towards the area where this presumed tree was alight. Perhaps he had some sort of idea, but still required assistance.

Cursing at that Toris looked around and grabbed both Feliks and his brother. "Raivis go and find help." He told him, sending out an emotional call to alert others to the issue at hand before sprinting off after Sindri, Feliks in tow.

Iceland was in front of the blazing palm tree, the flames reaching far higher than when he'd left it. The clouds of smoke that wafted up from the burning leaves and trunk were darkly colored ( ... )

Liev had been enjoying exploring in the quiet of the forest when he first noticed the smoke rising a good distance away at the beach. Quiet like this wasn't something he came by easily these days, so he'd chosen to ignore the explosion earlier, writing it off as some nonsense of Denmark's and Prussia. They'd probably set Romano off, knowing those idiots.

But two fiascoes in one day was too much, so Norway stomped off towards the smoke, his frown deepening, intent on doing something since he did not want them destroying the island on the first frikken' day! As he got closer and he still didn't hear anyone, he sped up. Liev broke into a full sprint when all of sudden, Iceland's thoughts began to filter into his mind, panicky and desperate. He heard what Sindri was planning, and he didn't like it one bit. He cursed under his breath. There had to be a million other ways to put out a fire that didn't involve flinging yourself into it ( ... )

He felt the impact but didn't quite realize exactly what had hit him. As soon as he disconnected from the flames his powers shut off. His concentration had broken.

Iceland, his pants as black as night and a great deal of his skin discolored and charred, coughed for a good ten seconds straight as he tried to relieve the smoke from his lungs. He shook the soot from his now cloud-gray hair.

His world was spinning. He lay there, eyes closed and breathing strained, his entire being aching from the external wounds and the exhaustion of utilizing his powers. One key thing ran through his mind.

I need to put the fire out, he thought in his daze. It's all my fault. I'm not going to ruin everyone's vacation, I need to deal with this by myself... It's all my fault...

Eduard cast his eyes down slightly when Vash didn't return his gaze. Did I really upset him now? He traced the inside of his lip nervously with his teeth, still maintaining his smile.

Should I have left him in the room? What if he just got mad? Should I say something?

He tried to not notice when Vash came a little closer, but subconciously, moved a bit closer besides him. When his fingers touched his however.

He was slightly startled with surprise. Of course he had already thought of grabbing his hand himself, but was worried it would only agitate Vash more, especially in public. He felt his heart skip a beat, his face flushing, then laced his fingers with his. With the squeeze he felt a bit of his anxiety wash away. Becoming a bit calmer when he reached the, what seemed to be a lot emptier than expected, sea.

He smiled peacefully, leaning a bit closer to Vash so their shoulders brushed together, squeezing his hand softly.

Vash was in a much better mood after their small but meaningful touch. Of course, he was still angry at the world and at his boss and at everybody, but not at Eduard anymore, if he ever was. Already a start, right ( ... )

Eduard's spirit lifted slightly as they walked, his fears of having upset Vash subsiding slightly. The sight of the sea too, helped him calm down slightly, gazing upon the familiar waters.

The place might have been far away from Estonia, but there was something always unmistakable about the sea air. The salty tang in the air was something almost sweet to him. It was nice, that despite the moist atmosphere, next to the sea it was hardly ever humid, thanks to the fresh seabreeze.

He was a bit more aware of humidity, it hardly posed a threat or danger, but he had become more cautious of damp and watery place ever since his powers manifested. Not surprisingly, since electricity never really mixed with water, most liquids for that matter.

He leaned a bit closer against Vash, squeezing his hand softly. Feeling at ease, safer, so close to him. He blushed very lightly, flicking his eyes up to look at his for a moment. It would be much easier to drown in his eyes than in the sea. He blushed a bit heavier at that thought, quickly looking ( ... )

Vash had been staring at the other’s eyes for a little, completely lost in the moment as he did. Of course, still the same bitter he expression always wore, planted on his face, masking what went on his mind. Despite the frown, he had relaxed his body considerably, so unaware of it; it took his rifle slipping off his shoulder to wake him up from the trance ( ... )

Staring at his younger brother still pinned underneath him, Liev wanted to yell at him, tell him how stupid he'd been, what a dumb and dangerous thing that had been. He opened his mouth to at scold Iceland, and caught the look in the other's face. His face looked so strained, that a good part of Norway's anger drained away, and all he managed was a terse "Iceland."

He became a little worried when he didn't get a reply.

"Iceland!" he tried again, louder this time, but it also failed to elicit a response. For once he was glad for his specific power, as he focused in on Iceland's thoughts.

I need to put the fire out. It's all my fault. I'm not going to ruin everyone's vacation, I need to deal with this by myself... It's all my fault... So this was what had made him act like that. 'Stupid little brother,' Norway mentally cursed. He had to snap Iceland out of it ( ... )

His eyelids twitched faintly as he began to come to consciousness. Grayed eyelashes fluttered open, revealing weary eyes glazed with unintentional tears. His eyes stung greatly, appearing to be grayed if only a bit from the heat of the flames.

Liev... he trailed off, unaware that Norway might be able to read that certain thought. Using a country's given name was a sign of significance; it was something you did with someone you were close with. However, Iceland would hardly say it openly; it was a term of endearment, in a manner of speaking, and he found himself embarrassed upon saying something with such emotional value. He would only do so if the matter was quite serious, or personal.

His eyes slowly were drawn to Norway's, his breathing strained. He was still coughing, clenching his eyes whenever a fit hit him.

Their eyes met, though he couldn't find any words. Rather, he was having a hard time speaking through his coughing fits. I can't breathe. I need to breathe. Everything hurts so much... If he'd had the sense at the time he ( ... )

Francis had been slow when he wandered to the beach; he thought it would be best to let everyone get there, get in swimsuits and get a little wet before he decided to observe. That wasn’t what he found.

The smell of fire was thick in the air, almost choking his senses. But there worse a worse smell under the burning tree, and it almost made him gag. Iceland was badly burnt and getting worse.

Francis was beside the injured man quickly, crouching next to his head. If he had been in Iceland’s position everything would have been fine, if only he could heal others. Why couldn’t he heal others? Had he even tried… Francis placed his hand on a burnt shoulder and tried to tap into that well of power inside. He would be useful.

And get back to those bikinis.

(( terrible post is terrible. I blame my cold *flees* ))

He wasn't sure he'd gotten to him at first, but then Iceland began to stir, and Norway let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. He was glad his brother had snapped out of it, but Liev needed to get him help. He could just barely hear a couple of people's thoughts, and looking around, he could barely make out Switzerland and Estonia down the beach. He didn't think they'd hear him if he yelled, he have to try telepathy aga-

Liev... Surprised, Norway's gaze snapped back to Iceland's face. He never used his name. He stared back at Iceland, his expression incredulous, as the other met his eyes. And then had a coughing fit.

I can't breathe. I need to breathe. Everything hurts so much...

Norway cursed again. They really needed some help now . He didn't want to leave Iceland though, so he was trying the couple down the beach again when France showed up out of nowhere. Liev was at first confused and suspicious, it was France after all, but the Frenchman's thoughts showed he was just as panicked as he himself was. His ( ... )

Had he just...been spacing?
It felt like he had missed a lot of what just happened, after they had found Raivis that was. He turned his gaze up to Liet, staring at the brunette with glassy eyes, "Like, what just happened?" He totally missed a lot when he became so absent-minded.

(ooc: since I was spacing out with replying as Poland on the side I figure that Poland was spacing, since this is to much to reply to orz)

"Lovino exploded." Toris said as he watched what was happening with Liev and Sindri with worry before noticing things seemed to be alright. "Maybe this island get away wasn't such a good idea if people are going to get hurt."

So that was all? "Liet, you're like totally worrying over nothing." he voiced with a ever so cheerful tone. But that was Liet for ya, always worrying. “This island is fine, you just gotta like, learn to relax.” his own gaze went to the two others as well but he found himself looking back at Toris rather quickly.

“Now, I wanna have some fun and I want you to like, join me.” He would get his friend to relax, even if it was the last thing he did.

Worrying over nothing Sometimes Toris wondered if Feliks worried about anything. "How can I relax, no one else is relaxed." He added, rubbing at his arms as his empathy picked that up.

Oh god. . .what id they did relax, what if the nations that were paired up did more then relax? Toris wondered as he went pale.

He nodded obediently at what Feliks' said not really listening to it.
