“Do you really think we should be doing this?” Ryeowook whispered as they tiptoed down the hallway.
Sungmin put a finger to his lips, “SHHH, do want everyone to hear us?”
“But-“ Ryeowook lowered his voice at the look Sungmin gave him. “I think he’s okay, I mean… he’s not bleeding…”
Sungmin rolled his eyes, again putting a finger to his lips, as they neared Siwon’s door. Ryeowook had to lean forward to hear Sungmin’s soft voice, “Yeah, but Wookie, did you see his face at the photoshoot? He was in agony!”
Ryeowook did remember the looks that Siwon had, the cameraman taking photos of him when he least expected it, especially when his face had a contorted look of his discomfort. There was pain there, definitely.
“But, hyung, do you really think Band-Aids will help?” Sungmin hushed him again, this time not from a finger, but by a quick peck on his lips.
Sungmin pulled back, a hint of laughter playing on his mouth, “Don’t worry, Band-Aids make anyone feel better. Now let’s do this before he wakes up!”
Ryeowook stood rooted to the spot, almost dropping the Teletubbie bandaids in his shock, before a soft giggle and an arm pulled him into Siwon’s dark room.
The room was black as the fake tattoo on Sungmin’s arm, and it took a few moments for Ryeowook’s eyes to adjust to the slits of orange light pushing through the blinds as the only source of light. Sungmin laced his fingers through his and dragged him over to the bed where Siwon lay, the sheet barely veiling his hips from view.
Ryeowook could only just make out Sungmin’s look of disgust in the darkness, “Ew, on second thought, let’s go… this is gross.”
Ryeowook pulled back on the hand trying to drag him from the room and grabbed his shoulders, speaking in a frustrated whisper, “Sungmin-ah, you convinced me to do this, and we’re already in here so let’s do it so it doesn’t hurt when as it scars, ‘kay?”
There was a rustling from the bed and the pair froze as Siwon opened his eyes slowly, blinking, and sat up finally seeing the two holding each other at the bedside. Siwon rubbed at his eyes, mumbling something like, “What are you guys doing?”
The pair turned their heads to come up with an answer, only to collide with one another’s foreheads. They gasped and rubbed at their heads, but they could not come up with a decent lie as an excuse. When they turned back to look like hopelessly lost and confused puppies, Siwon had already taken his place back on his pillows; he had fallen back into his deep sleep.
Sungmin and Ryeowook took that as their cue to carry out their plan now, or they would never be able to save Siwon from his pain. Ryeowook took out half the sheets of bandages from the box and tossed the remainder to Sungmin, “See? He passed out from the torture! You take that side, hyung. One, two, three, go!”
~~~
The two let out tiny squeals as they scampered out of the room, holding hands and sprinting down the hall until they reached the farthest door from Siwon’s, entering it and panting, leaning up against the door. “Why did we run away?” Ryeowook laughed, gulping for air. “He wasn’t even awake!”
He glanced over at Sungmin, whose lips were parted, breathing, watching him, with a suggestion of a smile playing at the corners of his mouth. “I know,” he whispered before Sungmin reached over and caressed his cheek, gently bringing their faces closer gently. Sungmin was kissing him again, his lips like silk, when-
Suddenly an angry whisper broke the silence, “What the heck are you kids doing? Knock it off!”
Ryeowook was a little dazed as he tried to find the originator of the interruption in the darkness. Sungmin’s lower lip jutted out as he pulled away and he folded his arms in a huff.
“FINE, Kangin-hyung,” Sungmin was disgruntled, but took Ryeowook’s hand and slowly opened the door again, letting in a sliver of light from the hallway. The small amount of light illuminated Kangin sitting up with his shaved head, shading his eyes from the light, complete with a lump next to him that was shaped very much like Eeteuk. Ryeowook was pulled out as he saw Kangin leaning down and whispering to go back to sleep into a slowly awakening leader’s ear.
The next morning was a usual morning for Super Junior, normal breakfast being the scraping of cupboards for the last clean bowl or cup (unless they wanted to wash the dishes that seemed permanent fixtures in the sink), except for one thing. Siwon walked in as he always did only wearing plaid pajama bottoms, revealing everything else, including the neon stripes connecting one perfect chocolate square to the next.
Donghae was the first to point out the oddity, “Siwon-ah? What’s that you’ve got on your stomach?”
Siwon looked down for the first time that morning and noticed the patterns formed using plastic strips across his abdomen. His hand reached up to scratch his head when he vaguely remembered seeing Ryeowook and Sungmin earlier that morning in is room without an explanation for being there.
Siwon looked up, clueless as to why the two members had put band-aids all over his stomach, “Uhm, I don’t know.”
Ryeowook and Sungmin poked their heads above the back of the couch, smiles beaming. They ducked back down quickly as Siwon turned his head slightly, looking quizzical at Donghae.
Ryeowook leaned closer to Sungmin and whispered, “You were right, hyung! Siwon isn’t in pain anymore!”
Ryeowook gleamed. Sungmin smiled, leaned forward, and clung to his arm, “I told you!”
