I remember a TV movie, featuring Wilford Brimley as a grumpy old man who refused to evacuate.

Harry Truman! He was notoriously crotchety and is now somewhere under a mountain of ash and mud.

I had a plastic model of the Mt. St Helen's caldera when I was a kid that had space underneath for you to put baking soda and vinegar to make your own little eruptions. Super. Cool.

You know, I could swear that I actually remembered news reports of Mt. St. Helens going, but I was only 3. If I do actually remember it rather than just having seen stuff when I was a bit older? I think that'd probably be the youngest memories I have.
