On music, Ood, and gleeful things.

So I actually read some reactions to "Planet of the Ood" before I sat down to write my own, and I'm not going to contribute to the discussions because I don't want to start a fight. I'm in an agressive mood and I'd probably end up really wanky or something. I am however going to discuss music and Doctor Who, and also how awesome the Ood/Donna/the ( Read more... )

Hey there. I enjoyed reading your post. :)

I was curious about the Doctor's song coming to an end bit... I'm mostly unspoiled so I don't know where, if anywhere, they are going with that.

I'm also enjoying Donna as the companion. I wasn't sure if that was going to work, but she's been great so far.

I wasn't a big fan of Martha's last season, but seeing her on Torchwood and now in the previews of Who makes me want her back as a semi-regular or something. She should be on Torchwood all the time. And yeah, I agree about a crossover even though I'm sad at Tosh and Owen being gone. Though their last scene was pretty great, IMHO. That's better than dying really stupidly without any emotional impact, like some other characters I know. ;)

If you're mostly unspoiled I won't ruin anything for you, though I don't know much myself aside from Ye Big Olde Spoiler. I do know David Tennant is supposedly signed through the specials next year, but who knows where it'll go.

I was quite excited for Donna -- she's something new and different and sometimes a bit over the top. As for Martha, I wasn't a huge fan either, until the whole Master thing and then the Torchwood appearances. I hope she'll take the job as medic, though I'm not holding out for that. And am still bitter about the whole need for a new medic. I agree the last scene was pretty great, and it's nice to know the emotions weren't faked; all the actors were really upset with the way it turned out.

And we won't even go into pointless character deaths. [growls] That new Trek movie BETTER NOT SUCK.

I hope Tennant stays on for a season after the specials, even if we have to wait a bit longer. I really have grown to love him quite a bit. :)

I feel bad for the Torchwood actors, having gotten the ax like that. :( What kills me is that I finally started to like Owen and then they go and do that. It took a long time for me to warm up to him and finally it happened and he got shot. Nice. At least he stuck around for a bit in his sorta dead form...

And yeah, I hope the new Trek movie is at least pretty good. It has an interesting cast. That's something at least.
